“Tragic Murder-Suicide Shocks North Dublin Community”

-

A man suspected of strangling his six-year-old daughter before taking his own life in a tragic “murder-suicide” has been identified within the local community. Krzysztof Daczkowski, believed to be in his 30s, was discovered deceased alongside his daughter Julia at their residence in north Dublin on Saturday night. The distressing revelation was made by Julia’s mother, Aga, upon her return, prompting neighbors to report hearing her anguished cry before emergency services, including Dublin Fire Brigade, paramedics, and police, arrived at the scene around 8 pm.

Reports indicate that Daczkowski’s body was located near the staircase. Authorities have ruled out the possibility of a break-in or involvement of a third party, initiating a murder investigation. Concerns have been raised that both individuals had passed away several hours before Aga’s arrival home.

The bodies were removed from the property the following day for postmortem examinations, which are expected to guide the ongoing investigation. The tragic incident unfolded in the family’s serene neighborhood, directly across from a children’s playground. Locals recalled seeing the father and daughter frequently at the playground together.

A witness recounted hearing a chilling scream upon Aga’s arrival, stating, “It was the mother.” Residents shared the heartbreaking task of explaining the situation to their children, many of whom had interacted with the young girl at the playground.

Another neighbor expressed the challenges of shielding their children from the distressing news, highlighting the shock and sorrow felt in the community. The quiet and reserved nature of the family was emphasized, with neighbors recalling moments of interaction with them.

A resident described the moment emergency vehicles rushed into the neighborhood, signaling a serious incident. Observations of the father spending time with his daughter and the recent departure of the grandmother from the household were also shared, painting a picture of the family’s activities leading up to the tragedy.

A statement from the Garda mentioned ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two bodies in Finglas, Dublin. The scene has been secured for forensic analysis, with the involvement of the State Pathologist’s Office. Further details are pending as the investigation progresses.
