Transfer news LIVE with Liverpool and Chelsea done deals and Man Utd and Arsenal latest

Must read

Oh, is it that time of year already? It feels as though the transfer window rolls around earlier every year, and if you’re reading this it means we’re just a month away from Premier League clubs being able to add to their squads.

None of the clubs taking part in next season’s Premier League are above the need for reinforcements. Even champions Liverpool, where captain Virgil van Dijk has said “I think it should be a big summer” after signing his contract extension.

Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton may face a battle to hang onto their prize assets after relegation, with Liam Delap arguably the most in-demand star from the three teams destined for the Championship. There will also be opportunities for Leeds and Burnley to strengthen after sealing promotion, with the third promoted side to be decided via the play-offs in May.

Due to the Club World Cup beginning in mid-June, there’s an early mini transfer window between June 1 and June 10. Business will then pause, before a full window running later in the summer.

A number of deals have already been wrapped up, with Giorgi Mamardashvili heading to Liverpool and Estevao Willian on his way to Chelsea. There are also plenty of big names out of contract at the end of June who will be able to move for free.

With the window just around the corner, there’s been plenty of transfer talk already. Stay with Mirror Football for all the latest from around the football world.

Emi Martinez is being lined up for a move to the Saudi Pro League, with Aston Villa already scouting for a new No.1.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Argentine is being targeted for a move to Saudi Arabia. Signing Martinez would be a ‘significant coup’ for the Middle East division, though it is so far unknown which clubs are interested in him.

Arsenal transfer target Nico Williams insists he’s “super happy” at Athletic Club and has made it clear he is not thinking about a summer transfer at this moment in time.

“I have the opportunity to make history at this club. The dream never ends,” he said ahead of his side’s match against Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford will be required to take a pay cut to get a move this summer but will that be enough to see someone like Barcelona swoop in? Or will Manchester United need to find another loan?

Manchester United are said to be considering a surprise swoop for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah in the upcoming transfer window – but they could stiff competition for the German’s signature from Real Madrid.

As first revealed by Sky Sports, United are among the teams who admire Tah. The centre-half will be a free agent this summer.

Alisson Becker is expected to snub any interest from Saudi Arabia this summer.

That’s despite the impending arrival of £34m Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia this summer, and the Reds do not appear to want to sell their goalkeeper anyway.

Bayern Munich defender Eric Dier will join Monaco in the summer when his contract expires, according to L’Equipe (via GFFN).

Dier, 31, joined Bayern on an initial loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2024 and scored his first Bundesliga goal this season.

He is expected to sign a three-year deal with Monaco, who sit fourth in Ligue 1 at the time of writing.

Brazilian talent Estevao Willian will join Chelsea in the summer, with the Palmeiras star arriving as one of the hottest prospects in South America.

Estevao is due to join in a deal worth close to £50million including add-ons, but won’t arrive in time for the Club World Cup.

Kendry Paez and Dario Essugo are also on their way to Stamford Bridge, joining from Independiente del Valle and Sporting Lisbon respectively in multi-million pound deals.

Champions Liverpool already know they’ve got one new face on the way in the form of Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Georgia goalkeeper Mamardashvili agreed terms last summer, and will join in a £34million move from Valencia at the end of the current campaign.

The Spanish team flirted with relegation early in the season but have pulled clear of immediate danger, with Mamardashvili recording seven clean sheets in his 29 La Liga appearances.

We’re winding up to that time of year again and already there are no shortage of transfer rumours swirling around. Stick around and we’ll keep you across most of them before the Club World Cup sees the window open early next month.
