During a lavish State Banquet at Windsor Castle, President Donald Trump made complimentary remarks about Prince William and Kate Middleton, while seemingly taking a subtle dig at Prince Harry. Hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla, the banquet was attended by 160 guests.
Addressing the attendees, Trump praised the royals, particularly highlighting Prince William and Princess Kate. Seated between Charles and Kate, Trump commended Prince William and expressed admiration for the Princess, calling her radiant, healthy, and beautiful.
In response to Trump’s compliments, Kate smiled appreciatively. This was not the first time during his UK visit that Trump had commented on the Princess’s beauty. Upon their arrival at Windsor Castle, Trump greeted William and Kate warmly, expressing his admiration for Kate’s beauty once again.
During his speech at the State Banquet, Trump expressed gratitude for being the first American president to receive a second state banquet. He described the privilege as one of the highest honors of his life, showing respect for the royal hosts and their country.
The banquet featured a menu in French, including dishes like Hampshire Watercress Panna Cotta, Organic Norfolk chicken ballotine, and Vanilla ice cream bombe. A selection of wines and after-dinner drinks was served, including a 1945 vintage port in honor of Trump being the 45th US president.
Additionally, special drinks like a 1912 cognac, representing the birth year of Trump’s mother, and a unique cocktail called the Transatlantic Whisky Sour were offered. The cocktail blended Johnnie Walker with marmalade, pecan foam, and a toasted marshmallow on a biscuit.
