A woman from the UK grew tired of seeing men fail in a massive eating challenge, so she took matters into her own hands by flying to Benidorm and emerging victorious. Leah Shutkever, aged 35, made headlines at Uncle Ron’s café in Benidorm after devouring a 40-item full English breakfast in under seven minutes, surpassing all previous attempts at the 3,500-calorie “belly buster” challenge.
After witnessing what she described as “embarrassing” efforts by others on social media, Leah flew to Spain with a singular goal in mind. Upon arrival, she wasted no time and swiftly consumed four sausages, four bacon rashers, four fried eggs, four hash browns, four slices of toast, six tomatoes, half a can of baked beans, 10 mushrooms, and two pieces of fried bread in mere minutes, setting a new record at the café.
The café owner, Georgia Smith, expressed astonishment at Leah’s rapid completion of the challenge, stating, “She just came in and smashed the record. It wasn’t surprising that she completed the challenge but I didn’t expect her to do it that quickly. She’s put the men to shame. 100 per cent.”
Leah managed to conquer the notoriously difficult challenge, which typically has a success rate of only 3%, in an impressive time of six minutes and 45 seconds. Despite weighing just 11 stone and standing at 5ft 8in, she opted to use her hands rather than cutlery to tackle the daunting feast.
In her own words, Leah explained, “The British men were letting everyone down so I had to go over there and sort it out. I’ve been tagged in this challenge thousands of times and told I have to go and represent the UK because the British people are embarrassing us.” Leah, a former biking model, also mentioned that she fasted for about 16 hours before the challenge.
Following her triumph, Leah decided to enjoy the Benidorm sun for two days before heading back to the UK. She not only received an Uncle Ron’s-branded t-shirt for her feat but also the meal for free, as guests who finish the breakfast within 20 minutes are not charged the Euro 12 (£10.39) price.
Social media users expressed amazement at Leah’s accomplishment, with one saying, “Wow lady you have put the men to shame,” while another commented, “Might as well jack it in as nobody’s ever beating that time.” A third user added, “I’ve only heard her before and never seen her. I always assumed she was built like a fridge.”
