Canadian comedian Veronika Slowikowska is set to appear on NBC’s iconic comedy show, “Saturday Night Live,” during its 51st season debut on October 4th. Hailing from Barrie, Ontario, Slowikowska, known as @veronika_iscool on Instagram and TikTok, has amassed a substantial following by creating viral sketch content with her roommate Kyle Chase.
Expressing her excitement on Instagram, Slowikowska described the opportunity as a dream come true and eagerly anticipated performing on Saturdays. The 29-year-old, based in Toronto and New York, graduated from Randolph College for the Performing Arts in 2015 and completed the CBC Actors Conservatory program in 2019, offered by the Canadian Film Centre.
In addition to her social media comedy, Slowikowska starred in the Amazon Prime teen comedy “Davey and Jonesie’s Locker,” earning the 2025 Canadian Screen Award for best lead performer in a children’s or youth program. She also had a recurring role in Netflix’s “Tires” and appeared in TV series such as “Poker Face” and “What We Do in the Shadows.”
Among the new cast members, Slowikowska stands out as the sole Canadian and the only female addition to the upcoming season. Joining her are Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, and Kam Patterson. The announcement comes after four previous cast members, including fan-favorite Heidi Gardner, revealed their departure from the show, leading to mixed reactions from fans.
“Saturday Night Live,” conceived by Canadian Lorne Michaels, debuted on October 11, 1975, and has showcased notable Canadian talents over its extensive run, including Phil Hartman, Norm MacDonald, Mike Myers, Dan Aykroyd, and Martin Short.
