The WNBA has announced that the All-Star Game will be returning to Chicago in 2026 and is scheduled to take place at the United Center. The game is set for July 25, with the 3-point contest and Skills Challenge slated for the day before, pending the finalization of a new collective bargaining agreement before the current one expires at the end of the month.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert expressed excitement about bringing the AT&T WNBA All-Star event back to Chicago, emphasizing the anticipated competitive matchups and community engagement. The league, in collaboration with the Chicago Sky, aims to highlight the talents of the game’s top stars, engage fans globally, and showcase the vibrant basketball culture of the iconic city.
Chicago previously hosted the All-Star Game in 2022 at the Wintrust Arena, home of the Sky. The upcoming event at the United Center, which has a significantly larger capacity than the Wintrust Arena, marks a significant opportunity to further elevate the league’s profile. Chicago Sky’s CEO and President, Adam Fox, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the 2026 WNBA All-Star game, aiming to build on past successes and celebrate the league’s growth by presenting its top talents on an international platform.
The most recent All-Star Game was held in Indianapolis, where Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark missed out on playing due to a groin injury.
