Virgin Media is introducing a significant upgrade to its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels at no extra cost. The telecoms company has partnered with Rakuten to bring in a trio of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels. The new additions include Rakuten TV Drama on Ch462, featuring popular movies like The Big Short and Gosford Park. Additionally, Rakuten TV Comedy on Ch463 will showcase films such as Big Momma’s House and The Internship. Lastly, viewers can enjoy Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Ch464 for a range of sci-fi content.
These channels will be automatically available on Virgin TV 360 and Flex, with no customer action required. The channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found using voice control. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, emphasized the value and quality of the new streaming channels, providing customers with a variety of entertainment options at no additional charge.
With this upgrade, Virgin TV customers now have access to 40 FAST channels, enhancing their viewing experience. While a subscription fee is necessary for Virgin Media TV, the enriched channel lineup surpasses what is offered by free services.
