“Father Sought in Fatal Shooting After Amber Alert”

-

A 1-year-old child has been located unharmed after an Amber Alert was issued, but authorities are now seeking her father in connection with a fatal shooting in Brampton, Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Police issued the alert at 5 p.m., which was later rescinded approximately two hours later. Const. Mandeep Khatra informed the media that the child has been found safe and was handed over to family members.

Although the exact location where the child was found was not disclosed, police revealed that the child’s 38-year-old father, who allegedly took her, is now wanted in connection with the shooting death of a woman earlier that day. The tragic incident occurred in a plaza parking lot near Queen Street E. and Airport Road around 2 p.m., where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reportedly, the suspect departed the scene in a vehicle with the child in the rear seat. Const. Khatra stated that the situation is believed to be related to intimate partner issues, and efforts are underway to locate the suspect. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed.

Authorities have shared details about the suspect, including his description and the vehicle he is driving. The suspect is believed to have left the Niagara Region and is considered armed and dangerous. Police have advised the public to contact 911 immediately if they spot the suspect and have urged not to approach him or the vehicle.

Residents in the Crystal Beach area of Fort Erie were advised to take precautions, but the suspect is believed to have left the area. Law enforcement officials are encouraging anyone with relevant information or footage to come forward to aid in the investigation.
