-

Co-op is gearing up to unveil 11 new stores this week, with a comprehensive list of locations already confirmed. These fresh additions span from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands, and notably, Co-op will be the inaugural permanent retailer at the new Brent Cross Town development in London.

The store openings consist of a mix of brand-new outlets, franchise-operated stores, and revamped locations, showcasing the company’s commitment to investing in over 200 new and refurbished stores by 2024/25.

This latest announcement aligns with the 50 stores recently disclosed by Co-op to open before the holiday season, just in time for Christmas. The retailer is advocating for business-rates reform in the upcoming Budget session this week.

Kate McCrae, Co-op’s Operations Director, emphasized the brand’s dedication to establishing local stores as community hubs that go beyond mere retail, catering to local needs and enhancing community life conveniently. She iterated the importance of sustained growth through government support in the form of fair business rate reform.

In a bid to further engage shoppers, Co-op has introduced 200 new personalized offers, increased discounts, member-exclusive games, reward mechanisms, and special deals within its membership program. Members stand to potentially save over £90 throughout October, November, and December, with prizes changing monthly based on spending both in-store and online.

Rachel Halter, Director of Membership at Co-op, highlighted the brand’s ongoing efforts to deliver added value to its members through enhanced personalized offers, expanded access to exclusive features, and substantial discounts, all aimed at ensuring a rewarding shopping experience.
