Pop Singer Chappell Roan Severs Ties Over Wasserman’s Past

-

Pop singer Chappell Roan announced on Monday that she has severed ties with the talent agency headed by Casey Wasserman, the leader of Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, in light of his past controversial email exchanges with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell over two decades ago. Wasserman has publicly expressed regret for his communications with Maxwell following the exposure of their intimate email conversations.

Recent disclosures by the U.S. Justice Department concerning the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell’s former partner, have unveiled flirtatious emails exchanged between Wasserman, who was married at the time, and Maxwell dating back to 2003. Roan confirmed the termination of her representation by Wasserman’s agency through a statement on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of artists aligning with representation that upholds their values and ensures their well-being.

Wasserman, a prominent figure in the sports and entertainment industry, has denied any personal or business association with Epstein. He clarified that his connection with Maxwell predated the revelation of her and Epstein’s criminal activities. The talent agency led by Wasserman refrained from providing an immediate response to the situation on Monday.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence following her conviction in 2021 in New York for various charges, including the sex trafficking of minors. Her arrest in 2020 stemmed from allegations by federal prosecutors accusing her of recruiting and preparing young girls for sexual encounters with Epstein during the years 1994 to 2004.

The release of numerous internal documents by the U.S. Justice Department pertaining to Epstein has shed light on the deceased financier’s relationships with numerous influential individuals, both prior to and after his 2008 guilty plea to prostitution charges involving an underage girl. Epstein’s demise in a Manhattan correctional facility in 2019 was officially ruled as a suicide.
