“Suicide Bombers Attack Pakistani Paramilitary Base, 3 Officers Killed”

-

Three individuals carried out suicide bomb attacks at the base of a Pakistani paramilitary organization, resulting in the deaths of three officers and injuries to at least five others, as per official reports. The assailants initiated gunfire upon breaching the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar before detonating explosives within the premises. Deputy commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed the fatalities among the paramilitary personnel. An anonymous senior official disclosed that one bomber struck the main entrance while the rest infiltrated the compound. Security forces, comprising the army and police, swiftly secured the area suspecting additional terrorists inside the compound.

The incident occurred in a densely populated section of Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the area cordoned off by security personnel. The injured, including two paramilitary members, received medical attention at Lady Reading Hospital. No group has claimed responsibility for the assault as of yet. Notably, extremist factions in the region have escalated attacks following recent border disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan accuses the Afghan Taliban of providing refuge to these militants who allegedly launch cross-border assaults, an accusation Kabul refutes.
