The Ottawa Redblacks terminated head coach Bob Dyce’s contract following the team’s sixth consecutive loss to end the season. This decision was made after Ottawa suffered a 35-15 defeat against Hamilton, resulting in the team missing the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their appearance in the 2018 Grey Cup.
Bob Dyce had been associated with the Redblacks since 2016, initially serving as the special-teams coordinator before being promoted to head coach in 2022. Despite leading Ottawa to a 9-8-1 record and securing their first playoff spot in five years last season, the team struggled this year, finishing with a 4-14 record under Dyce’s leadership. Throughout his tenure as head coach, Dyce achieved an 18-39-1 record.
General manager Shawn Burke expressed the challenges of the decision, acknowledging Dyce’s dedication and strong work ethic during his time with the team.
