Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the standout first baseman for the Blue Jays, is in the running for his second consecutive Silver Slugger award. Major League Baseball revealed the finalists for the annual awards recognizing the top offensive players at each position in both leagues. Alongside Guerrero, Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer also secured spots as finalists.
The winners, determined through votes from Major League managers and coaches excluding their own players, will be unveiled on November 7. Guerrero, who clinched the AL first-base accolade in 2021, boasted a .292 batting average with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs, with only 94 strikeouts in 589 at-bats.
Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, Bichette ranked second in the majors with 181 hits, showcasing a .311 average along with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. Meanwhile, Springer is contending for his third Silver Slugger award, aiming to secure his first since 2019. The 36-year-old player enjoyed a remarkable 2025 season with a career-best batting average of .309, 32 home runs, and 84 RBIs.
