Jake Paul’s Promoter Investigates Allegations Against Gervonta Davis

-

Jake Paul’s promotional company has issued a statement following allegations against his upcoming opponent, Gervonta Davis. The accusations include battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping by an ex-girlfriend of Davis.

The scheduled exhibition bout between Paul and Davis is set for November 14 in Miami, even though Davis competes at lightweight and Paul at cruiserweight. The fight will not impact their professional records, but a winner will be determined through stoppage or by two human judges and an AI official if the contest goes the distance.

Despite the controversy surrounding Davis, the fight is still on, but there have been suggestions of replacing him with Ryan Garcia. Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s promotional company, stated that they are investigating the allegations against Davis and will make a decision once all details are thoroughly reviewed.

Davis has not responded to the accusations yet, but his trainer dismissed them as baseless. The lawsuit claims that Davis assaulted his ex-partner at her workplace and had threatened her in the past. The ex-partner is seeking damages of $50,000 and a jury trial for the alleged incidents.

The possibility of Garcia replacing Davis in the fight has been ruled out due to contractual obligations with different promotions. Paul may delay his return to the ring until December and has been previously linked to a potential bout with heavyweight Anthony Joshua, although finalizing a deal on short notice seems unlikely.
