Kevin Spacey Settles Sexual Assault Claims

-

Three individuals who accused actor Kevin Spacey of sexual assault have reached a settlement regarding their civil claims before a trial at the High Court in London, as per court records. The accusers claimed that the Oscar-winning actor had assaulted them between 2000 and 2013, which Spacey has vehemently denied.

Scheduled civil trials were halted following an order by Judge Christina Lambert, who stated that the involved parties had agreed to the settlement terms. The specifics of the settlement were not disclosed, and no ruling was made regarding costs. The court order, issued on Friday, was made public on Wednesday.

Kevin Spacey, who faced nine sexual offense charges from four men in a 2023 London trial, was acquitted of all accusations. Two of the claimants in the civil case provided testimony during the criminal trial, and Spacey also successfully defended against a $40 million US civil lawsuit filed by actor Anthony Rapp in New York in 2022.

Once a highly acclaimed actor, known for roles in films like “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “L.A. Confidential,” and the TV series “House of Cards,” Spacey’s career suffered a setback due to the sexual abuse allegations. He won Academy Awards for his performances in “The Usual Suspects” and “American Beauty.”

Aside from his film career, Spacey served as the artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre from 2004 to 2015. Despite stating that he has found work in recent years, his roles have been primarily in smaller productions rather than the mainstream Hollywood projects he was previously associated with.
