“Blackpool Council Offers £300 Energy Aid to Eligible Households”

-

Thousands of households may qualify for £300 in energy assistance this winter. Blackpool Council is providing this support through its Household Support Fund to eligible households. The amount of aid varies based on household size, with £200 for one or two-person households and £300 for households of three or more individuals.

To be eligible for this assistance, households must be facing financial difficulties and struggling to pay their bills. Proof of financial hardship, such as recent bank statements for all household members, is required to apply.

Applicants do not need to be receiving Universal Credit or other benefits to apply for this fund, but only one award can be claimed within a 12-month period. The payment is directly credited to the energy provider and will be reflected on the energy bill or pre-payment meter. Interested individuals can apply through the official Blackpool Council website.

Residents outside of Blackpool can check with their local council to explore similar support options available through the Household Support Fund. Different councils offer various forms of assistance, such as free vouchers or one-off payments, to help households with energy bills during the winter months.

For instance, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is distributing £120 in vouchers to eligible residents. City of York Council is providing one-off £100 payments to those receiving council tax bill assistance. Portsmouth City Council is awarding £150 to single-person households and £200 to couples or families meeting specific income criteria.

Each council has its own eligibility requirements and application process, so residents are encouraged to check with their local authorities for more information on available support.
