Chilling video footage has captured the aftermath of Vladimir Putin’s devastating drone strikes on a Ukrainian nursery in Kharkiv. Terrified children were seen screaming and crying as they were evacuated from the chaos caused by the barrage of strikes. Sadly, one person lost their life, and seven others were injured during the attack.
Fire officials were seen rushing through the streets, carrying the distressed children to safety. Fortunately, all 48 children were successfully evacuated following the strikes on Wednesday morning. Tragically, one adult male was found dead, and seven others were injured in the Russian assault.
Heart-wrenching images revealed the severe damage inflicted on the nursery, with the roof collapsed, whiteboards destroyed, shattered glass on the floor, and children’s desks amidst the debris. Thick smoke filled the air from the impacted areas.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack as an affront to peace-seekers, attributing the responsibility to “bandits and terrorists” under Putin’s control. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported a direct hit on the kindergarten, causing a fire.
Zelensky took to social media to confirm the children’s safe relocation to shelters, though they exhibited signs of acute stress. He denounced the drone strike on the kindergarten, emphasizing Russia’s increasing audacity and disregard for peaceful resolutions.
The attack occurred shortly before a decision by Trump to allow Ukraine to utilize certain long-range missiles provided by Western allies, following the breakdown of a planned meeting with Putin. This authorization enables Kyiv to target deeper into Russia, intensifying pressure on the Kremlin, according to US officials.
Notably, Ukraine launched British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles at a Russian chemical plant in the Bryansk region, with the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces hailing it as a successful strike. The plant was identified as a key producer of materials used in ammunition and missiles deployed against Ukraine.
The missile strike coincided with a commitment by PM Keir Starmer and other European leaders to escalate economic and defense industry pressure on Russia until Putin is willing to engage in peace negotiations.
