“Summer Antique Fair Guide: Best Markets Across Canada”

This summer presents an ideal opportunity for exploring Canada’s diverse outdoor and seasonal antique fairs and markets, whether you are an experienced antique collector, a fan of thrifting, or simply seeking a fun road trip adventure. These events attract numerous reputable dealers, showcasing a carefully curated selection of goods that cater to both casual browsers and serious treasure-hunters. Some venues even enhance the shopping experience by offering on-site food trucks. Below are eight antique fairs and markets that should be on your summer itinerary.

Aberfoyle Antique Market:
Located just south of Guelph, Ont., the Aberfoyle Antique Market is touted as Canada’s largest of its kind. Operating every Sunday until Oct. 25, this market boasts over 100 vendors offering collectibles, furniture, folk art, and more. Additionally, two Saturday Special Shows are held annually with over 150 vendors participating, the next one scheduled for Sept. 19.

Old Strathcona Antique Mall Parking Lot Sale:
The Old Strathcona Antique Mall in Edmonton hosts seasonal sales in its parking lot on several summer days, rain or shine. Visitors can explore vintage treasures outdoors in addition to the mall’s indoor vendors, numbering over 120. The upcoming sales are set for July 12, Aug. 3, and Sept. 7, while the mall operates from Tuesday to Sunday weekly.

Saugeen Shores Antique & Collectible Show:
Celebrating its 48th year, the Saugeen Shores Antique & Collectible Show will be held on July 18 and 19 at the Southampton Coliseum in Southampton, Ont. Over 80 vendors will offer vintage clothing, jewelry, advertising signs, furniture, and various collectibles, including Pyrex tableware, retro toys, and rare trading cards.

Vintage Pasture Sale:
The sixth annual Vintage Pasture Sale, featuring over 40 vendors selling vintage and antique items, will take place on July 18 at Locality Brewing in Langley, B.C. Inspired by French brocantes, this popular event will also include food trucks, farm stands, and a beer garden for attendees to enjoy.

Sussex Flea Market:
The Sussex Flea Market, organized by the New Brunswick Antique Auto Club, will be hosted at Princess Louise Park in Sussex, N.B., from Aug. 14 to 16. With over 800 vendors expected, this outdoor event will offer a wide range of items, from second-hand household goods to rare collectibles.

Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club Vintage Collectibles & Antiques Show:
Mark your calendar for the annual summer show organized by the Fraser Valley Antiques & Collectibles Club on Aug. 28 and 29 at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster, B.C. Visitors can browse through more than 200 booths selling vintage clothing, sports memorabilia, small furniture, and more.

Odessa Antique Show:
Taking place on Aug. 8 and 9 at the Odessa Fairgrounds, just west of Kingston, Ont., the Odessa Antique Show is a longstanding outdoor event featuring vendors from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. Attendees can explore a wide array of items such as furniture, toys, glassware, antique china, and more, while also considering a visit to the numerous antique shops in the Kingston area.

Cookstown Antique & Vintage Show:
The Cookstown Antique & Vintage Market hosts two annual outdoor events, with the next one scheduled for Sept. 12 at the Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds in Cookstown, Ont. The event will feature over 100 vendors, and a full list of participating vendors will be available on the show’s website later in the summer, allowing collectors to plan their visit. Food trucks will also be on-site to complement the experience.
